IT'S TIME TO PARTY!!!

The hard work is over and it is time to enjoy

the hard work and friendships that have 

been made!

Our boys need a night of recognition!

As every single one of our players has learned

so much and played so well they need to be 

recognized!

So far the date has been set for  

November 22nd 5:30-7:30

at Rock Creek Pizza

1276 West 12600 South in Riverton

 It is a great pizza place and it is ALL YOU CAN EAT!!

The boys and Coaches will be paid for.

Parents are encouraged to join and will be 7.99 per person

at the door!

We would like to honor the hard work of the Coaches

as well and ask you to donate to Coaches gifts.

We are asking for $10 per player to go towards this.
Please get me your $10 when you drop off your
equipment [details below] by the 16th!!

PLEASE NOTE NOT THE COACHES SONS!!! :)

Equipment Turn in

We are LATE!!!

Yes due to my lack in being around the past week

or two I missed getting all equipment from everyone!

My appologies!

I need to have ALL Equipment to ME by 

NOVEMBER 16TH!!!
(Find my home address in the
blue folder that was handed out
at the beginning of the year)

In getting all equipment to me the following needs to be done:

* Pants [practice and game] - need to be washed and dried

* Helmets - all stickers and trophies including stripe need to be removed

* Shoulder pads need to be intact

* Leg pads need to all be together and intact

All equipment needs to be to me by the date above so 

I can get them turned in to the District by the last day!

If this is NOT done we will NOT get our

team pictures!

Coach is SUPER confident we have a great chance

at our game on Saturday!

Week 9 Game

Pep Rally

Pep Rally Details!!!

The Pep Rally is on Tuesday October 26th at 7pm!

It is very important for everyone to be on-time!

We are going to meet ahead of time to drive over together!

We will provide hot chocolate and donuts for the boys.

Please drop off your boys at our usual 

practice location at 6:30 pm. 

We will drive as a team over to Bingham.

At the pavillion we usually practice at we will have the

donuts and hot chocolate.  

We will also practice our 'cheer'.

Taukeiaho's have agreed to teach our boys either the 'Haka'

dance or another 'Polynesian' war dance!  We are very 

excited.  The boys will love it!  However, it is going to 

require a bit of homework and practice.

We will plan on practicing tonight at the end of practice.

We will also give a paper of the words to the dance

that the boys need to be practicing and be familiar with.

Poasi will lead the team in the dance and will

help out doing the actions, however, if your boys are not 

loud and doing the actions it just won't do it justice!

So please practice with your boys and go over the words!

Plan on sending your boys on Tuesday 

in full uniform to the place and time 

mentioned above.

We will be wearing our HOME (BLUE) jerseys!

Scrimmage

We are going to scrimmage again!

This time we are playing another Bingham Team

it will be at

South Jordan Elementary

(11205 Black Cherry Way)

on Wednesday October 27th at 5pm.

Be there!

Let's plan to wear our blue jerseys and practice pants!

(We are away again this Saturday)

Week 8 Game

Tournaments!!!

Very Very Very important for all of your opinions here!

There are two opportunities for our boys to play in tournaments.

However there is additional cost/time involved in them.

We need your votes as to whether you would like

your players to be involved one of them.

Here are the details, please cast your vote on the polls

on the side bar of the blog!

BORDERWARZ

This is held at Rio Tinto Stadium and Cottonwood High School.

Each team is placed in brackets by average age and weight as

well as if they are an A or B team.

There is a cost of $40 per player plus $100 a team.

It will be held November 16 - 20th.

It will be a fun opportunity for our boys to play at Rio Tinto! 

JAG BOWL

This is held at West Jordan (at least hosted by WJ assuming played there as well)

Games are played on November 6th and 13th.

The cost is $350 a team OR $20.60 per player. 

Both of these tourney's will quickly

fill up!

We need everyone's opinion as to whether you would

like your player to participate!  Please vote on the poll 

on the side! ASAP!!!
Per Coach....I will need at least 17 votes per poll to make a
determination!
If there are NOT 17 votes per poll I will have to hunt everyone
down and get your personal opinion! SO PLEASE VOTE
only 3 days to do it!!!

PEP RALLY

It is that time of the Season!

Time to get everyone 'PUMPED UP'!

For those parents who don't know,

every year there is a BIG Pep rally!

This year it is going to be held on October 26th 

at 7:00 pm at Bingham High School!

It is quite the event!

Everyone is invited to come, parents, 

grandparents, siblings, friends and neighbors!

It is free to get in and the boys LOVE IT!

They have their team '15 minutes of fame' moments!

They introduce each team and announce

their achievements.

At the end there is the 'burning of the B'!

You will all have to come to find out more

about that one! :)

So let everyone know the pep rally is going to be

Tuesday October 26th, 7:00 pm 

Bingham High School

I will have details later as to where we will have the

boys meet so they are ready for the pep rally!

They will need to be in FULL UNIFORM for 

this event!

Playoffs

As you all know playoffs are around the corner!

While right now as we sit we do NOT know

if we will be one of the top 4 teams to automatically

make it into playoffs, we have a chance at

being in the 4th qualifying team position to go!

There are a few things that need to take place

and we will unfortunately have to play

the waiting game to find out if it all pans out.

We MAY be in a 3-way tie position

If that is the case Tuesday November 2nd will

be the Tie Breaker Game.

There will be more details to come if we will in fact

be in that 3-way tie later!

Just for your information Playoffs are

November 6th and 13th.

There is a charge to enter these games as follows:

0-4 Free

5-11 2.00

12 and up 3.00

As with the preseason games, I believe these costs are used

as a fundraiser and all proceeds will be split between the 

districts that are participating.

Scrimmage Wednesday

We are heading to 

South Jordan Elementary 

(11205 Black Cherry Way)

on Wednesday!

We are going to be scrimmaging there at 5pm.

It will be the same team we scrimmaged there

last time!

Please note to wear 

your Blue jersey and practice pants!

I will be collecting these blue jersey's after the scrimmage

and will bring them to the game on Saturday!

Are we Home or Away?!

Apparently District wide there has been

some confusion as to whether we should

be home or away for games.

Due to the confusing way the games were

listed on the schedule many teams are getting

confused!

Apparently on Saturday we were the home team and 

we were on Riverton's Fields.  They must have been

confused as well because they wore their Home jersey's!

Having said that, Coach would like us to collect jerseys.

He would like us to continue to wear a color that

will be announced at the beginning of the week.

The other jersey needs to be brought to practice on 

Wednesday before the game.

I will collect them and bring them to the games on

Saturday's!

That way we will have BOTH jersey's there

if we need to make a uniform change at the last minute!

I know it is somewhat of a pain and I really apologize!

Luckily with our mistake this past week it turned out okay, 

next time it may not be okay!

Friday Night Lights!!!

Heads UP Parents!

We are going ahead with our Friday night

pizza party plans!

The Dashner's have so graciously volunteered

their home to host our party!

Here is the skinny!

We will transport the boys directly from practice

on Friday to the Dashner's home

(you should all have their address in the blue folder

I handed out at the beginning of the season)

We ask you to send your son with $3 to cover

the cost of pizza.

Coach suggested watching the movie Invincible!

We plan to have the boys done and parents at the Dashner's home to 

be picked up at 9:30 pm!  

Coach wants to make sure all the boys are rested for the big game the

next day!

It will be a lot of fun!  The boys have become friends 

and get a long well!  They have fought hard and played well!

They have a lot to celebrate!

Week 4 Game

Team visit with Bryson

Our visit with Bryson went very well last week!

Thank you to everyone for contributing to a little get well gift

for him.  He enjoyed the signed football, Utah hat,

football cards, SI magazine, treats and most of all

knowing he was loved and missed by HIS team!

we will miss him and hope he is able to return soon!

Week 3 Game

Man Down!

Just to let you all know, we have a man down!

We wish Bryson Cheshire wishes of feeling better

soon!  He has been sick and missed the last game.

After speaking with his Mom they thought he was on 

the rebound.  He was admitted to PMC early this AM

and was diagnosed with appendicitis.  He is undergoing

surgery right now.  He will be out for several weeks and

will be sorely missed! 

Keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers!

You will be missed Bryson! 

Feel better soon!

Bryson is out of surgery and is doing quite well.  He,

will be in the hospital for a week and will NOT be able

to return to full activity for 4-6 weeks.  Per his Mom, he

may unfortunately be out for the season.

We are so sad and hope he feels better soon! 

Faultering Game Pants

Several parents have mentioned to Coach Burke about

faltering snaps on their sons game pants.

Unfortunately now that we are into the season

we as parents are responsible to get these repaired.

Bingham recommends 'Chongs Dry Cleaning'.

They are relatively fast and inexpensive.

About $3.50 per snap.

You can find 'Chongs Dry Cleaning'

on the northeast corner of 10400 South Redwood Rd.

Scrimmage Game!

This Wednesday [September 15th]

we will be having a scrimmage against

Hunter!

It will be at our regular practice field

at our regular time [5:30-7:30pm]!

Please wear your blue jersey top [Home jersey],

Practice pants and come ready to HIT HARD!

Week 2 Game

FUNDRAISER TURN IN!!!

The day for turning in the fundraiser has changed!

Please know it changed from the 9th of September

to Monday September 13th!

I will need all fundraiser money and order forms

to me NO LATER than the beginning

of practice on  

Monday September 13th at 5:30pm.

They will be collecting that night for a limited time

and I will need to review all orders and make sure

all money is there before I turn it in!!!

Please remember if your player sells at least 3 boxes the

district goal will be met.

If your player sells at least 8 boxes they will get a

Bingham T-Shirt!

If your player sells at least 17 boxes they will get a

Bingham draw string bag!

If your player sells THE MOST in the District they will get

their choice of either 

an iPod Touch or $200 Visa Cash Card!!

The TEAM who sells the most gets

a pizza party!!!

Picture Day

Friday Night Lights!!!

Okay so we are NOT really playing on Friday night.....

it just sounds good! :)

But our awesome Coach Burke would like to

have a little 'Pow Wow' of sorts on Friday September 3rd.

He wanted to see if one of the teams family's would host

at their home a Pizza/Movie Night.

He had in mind watching Invincible (rated PG)

and eating pizza.

CHANGE IN PRACTICE LOCATION

There is going to be a change in the location of practice.

We will continue to meet at 5:30 pm on weeknights [with the exception

of Tuesday night's scrimmage] but the location will change.

We are going to meet

behind the fire station on 10758 South Redwood Road.

There is a common area set up for practice.  We will meet there going

forward for our weeknight practices.

GAME UNIFORMS

We need to let the District know ASAP!.

Tuesday August 24th will be our first Scrimmage game vs. Tooele. 

Our 'practice time' has changed due to the scrimmage.

Coach has asked that we start at 6pm instead of 5:30.

Woot!  The preseason schedule has been released!

Our first Game will be on August 28th, 2010

This will be a preseason game that is hosted by the Bingham District.

It will be held at the South Jordan Park 2200 West Canterwood Drive (10830s)

[West Entrance of Park - our normal fields during the season]

THE COST TO ENTER THE GATE IS $2.00 PER PERSON

5 years and under free with paying adult

INJURY!!!

We would like to pass on well wishes of feeling better and healing quick to Wesley Dashner.  He has unfortunately fractured his arm.  He is supposed to be back to practice on Monday.  We hope he feels better soon and can join the team quickly again!

Additional Funds

We will need to collect $35 per player to cover the cost of

• Game reminder treats
• After game treats
• Player folders (to be passed out shortly)
• And other team items throughout the year

This $35 does NOT include embroidery on the jerseys.  This will need to be turned in to me no later than Tuesday August 24th along with the team apparel [see post below for more info on team apparel] forms and money.

There will be a full accounting of all funds collected and used upon request.

Jersey Handouts

We are scheduled to get our jerseys at 9:45am during our practice time on Saturday [8am-10am].  Have your boys thinking of a couple of numbers they would like.  They are starting to fit the Gremlins first and are limited on numbers so make sure your boys have a couple of numbers in mind.

It was also suggested to have your boys wear last years jersey to help in fitting them for this year, if it is available.  

This year our jerseys are going to be sweet!  Both jerseys are custom for Bingham.  Meaning they will both be Bingham colors.  The Home jersey will be Blue with white accents.  The Away jersey will be White with a thick stripe of blue down the sides.  [unlike last year where a large handful of teams had the same gray and black away jerseys].  Having said that I would like you to think and poll on something for me.  Since we will be getting our jerseys on Saturday [along with the rest of the Bingham football players] many of the embroiders that are being used will be totally swamped!  It was suggested to wait a week and get them done the next week. If we do that they will NOT have names on their jerseys for the first game.  I do have a contact who promised us turnaround of 2 days!  Those will cost $3 more per jersey though.  If use my contact they will have them in plenty of time for the first game!

The pricing is $5 per jersey -- the slower route or $8 per jersey -- 2 day turnaround.  

 Please take a look at the poll on the side of the blog and vote for your preference.  Majority wins and I will take them to the embroider on Monday based on the results.

Weigh In

Wednesday August 18th will be weigh in.  We are scheduled to weigh in at 6:25 pm during practice.  Coaches and Players ONLY are allowed in the weigh in area.  NO PARENTS ALLOWED!!!

Team Apparel

At the end of practice tomorrow [Wednesday August 18th, 2010] I will be passing out a team apparel order form.  I got to see the apparel at the meeting tonight and they are really good quality items!

None of these items are mandatory to purchase and are only if you would like them.  The money [cash only] and order forms are due to me at the end of practice [7:30]  Tuesday August 24th, 2010.

Cookie Dough Fund Raiser

The fundraiser that has been chosen by the district this year will be Cookie Dough!

These funds that are raised will go directly to support the football program.  There is a contest for the players to see who sells the MOST items!  They can win either an iPod touch OR a $200 VISA Gift Card!

If each player sells at least 3 boxes of frozen dough the district will meet their goals!

These fund raiser packets will be handed out at the end of practice tomorrow [Wednesday August 18, 2010].

Delivery of the cookie dough will be on September 20th and 21st.  These delivery times will be assigned and communicated at a later time.

Orders are due on September 9th.
