Pre Season Opener

Please note the change in practice schedule for next week.

We will NOT have practice on Thursday September 2nd

and we WILL have practice Friday September 3rd!

We are also going to have a 'Delay of Party' for the pizza pow wow!

We are going to wait until further into the season

by then we can celebrate our working together as a team

as well as celebrate some of our WINS we will have

by then! :)

Friday Night Lights!!!

Okay so we are NOT really playing on Friday night.....

it just sounds good! :)

But our awesome Coach Burke would like to

have a little 'Pow Wow' of sorts on Friday September 3rd.

He wanted to see if one of the teams family's would host

at their home a Pizza/Movie Night.

He had in mind watching Invincible (rated PG)

and eating pizza.

If you would be willing to help out Coach Burke He/I would 

really appreciate it!

CHANGE IN PRACTICE LOCATION

There is going to be a change in the location of practice.

We will continue to meet at 5:30 pm on weeknights [with the exception

of Tuesday night's scrimmage] but the location will change.

We are going to meet

behind the fire station on 10758 South Redwood Road.

There is a common area set up for practice.  We will meet there going

forward for our weeknight practices.

GAME UNIFORMS

As a reminder please let me know if any of you need black jersey pants!

We need to let the District know ASAP!.

I thought we were all okay, but I would like to make sure.

If there are any additional needs before the game on Saturday, please let me know ASAP!!

Scrimmage Game!

Tuesday August 24th will be our first Scrimmage game vs. Tooele. 

Our 'practice time' has changed due to the scrimmage.

Coach has asked that we start at 6pm instead of 5:30.

FIRST Pre Season Game!!!

Woot!  The preseason schedule has been released!

Our first Game will be on August 28th, 2010

This will be a preseason game that is hosted by the Bingham District.

It will be held at the South Jordan Park 2200 West Canterwood Drive (10830s)

[West Entrance of Park - our normal fields during the season]

THE COST TO ENTER THE GATE IS $2.00 PER PERSON

5 years and under free with paying adult

NO family rates or discounts will apply

We would like to pass on well wishes of feeling better and healing quick to Wesley Dashner.  He has unfortunately fractured his arm.  He is supposed to be back to practice on Monday.  We hope he feels better soon and can join the team quickly again!

Additional Funds

We will need to collect $35 per player to cover the cost of

• Game reminder treats
• After game treats
• Player folders (to be passed out shortly)
• And other team items throughout the year

This $35 does NOT include embroidery on the jerseys.  This will need to be turned in to me no later than Tuesday August 24th along with the team apparel [see post below for more info on team apparel] forms and money.

There will be a full accounting of all funds collected and used upon request.

Jersey Handouts

We are scheduled to get our jerseys at 9:45am during our practice time on Saturday [8am-10am].  Have your boys thinking of a couple of numbers they would like.  They are starting to fit the Gremlins first and are limited on numbers so make sure your boys have a couple of numbers in mind.

It was also suggested to have your boys wear last years jersey to help in fitting them for this year, if it is available.  

This year our jerseys are going to be sweet!  Both jerseys are custom for Bingham.  Meaning they will both be Bingham colors.  The Home jersey will be Blue with white accents.  The Away jersey will be White with a thick stripe of blue down the sides.  [unlike last year where a large handful of teams had the same gray and black away jerseys].  Having said that I would like you to think and poll on something for me.  Since we will be getting our jerseys on Saturday [along with the rest of the Bingham football players] many of the embroiders that are being used will be totally swamped!  It was suggested to wait a week and get them done the next week. If we do that they will NOT have names on their jerseys for the first game.  I do have a contact who promised us turnaround of 2 days!  Those will cost $3 more per jersey though.  If use my contact they will have them in plenty of time for the first game!

The pricing is $5 per jersey -- the slower route or $8 per jersey -- 2 day turnaround.  

 Please take a look at the poll on the side of the blog and vote for your preference.  Majority wins and I will take them to the embroider on Monday based on the results.

Weigh In

Wednesday August 18th will be weigh in.  We are scheduled to weigh in at 6:25 pm during practice.  Coaches and Players ONLY are allowed in the weigh in area.  NO PARENTS ALLOWED!!!

Team Apparel

At the end of practice tomorrow [Wednesday August 18th, 2010] I will be passing out a team apparel order form.  I got to see the apparel at the meeting tonight and they are really good quality items!

None of these items are mandatory to purchase and are only if you would like them.  The money [cash only] and order forms are due to me at the end of practice [7:30]  Tuesday August 24th, 2010.

Cookie Dough Fund Raiser

The fundraiser that has been chosen by the district this year will be Cookie Dough!

These funds that are raised will go directly to support the football program.  There is a contest for the players to see who sells the MOST items!  They can win either an iPod touch OR a $200 VISA Gift Card!

If each player sells at least 3 boxes of frozen dough the district will meet their goals!

These fund raiser packets will be handed out at the end of practice tomorrow [Wednesday August 18, 2010].

Delivery of the cookie dough will be on September 20th and 21st.  These delivery times will be assigned and communicated at a later time.

Orders are due on September 9th.
